Road Closure

THUNDER BAY — The Ministry of Transportation advises the motoring public that loading restrictions, of a maximum of three tonnes, are in place on Jackfish River Bridge which is currently under construction. Jackfish River Bridge is located on Highway 17 approximately 13 kilometres east of Nipigon.

These load restrictions have resulted in the need for all other traffic over three tonnes to utilize Highway 11 and Highway 631 as an alternate route between Nipigon and White River. The restriction duration is unknown at this time. A notice will be issued once more information is available.

This temporary restriction is required to ensure the safety of road users and construction workers while necessary bridge repairs are completed. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to complete repairs as soon as possible.

For the latest information on highway closures, the public can call 511, MTO’s Road Information Line or check www.ontario.ca/511.
