Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit Investigating
THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – A collision between a motor vehicle and a motorcycle has resulted in a fatality. One person has passed away as a result of the injuries suffered in a a motor vehicle collision.
The accident at the intersection of North Cumberland Street and North Water Street happened earlier today. The Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit is still on scene and it is still under investigation.
Thunder Bay Police report, “Preliminary investigation has revealed that a green Honda heading southbound on N. Cumberland Street, turned left at the intersection of North Cumberland St and Marina Park Drive in front of a Yamaha motorcycle traveling north bound on North Cumberland Street.
“The motorcycle came into contact with the front passenger side of the Honda, causing both occupants to be thrown from the motorcycle. All three persons involved were sent to the hospital. The 64yr old driver of the motorcycle and the 19 year old driver of the Honda sustained non-life threatening injuries and were subsequently released”

The passenger of the motorcycle, 59 year old Marianne Guitard has died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
The Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit is still investigating and charges are pending.
