DULUTH – There are flood watch alerts in effect for much of the area of northern Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin as a storm cell continues to hit the region of the United States.
The Flood Watch continues for portions of Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin…including the following areas…in Minnesota…Carlton/southern St. Louis… central St. Louis…Crow Wing…northern Aitkin…northern Cass…northern Cook/Northern Lake…Pine…southern Aitkin… southern Cass…southern Cook…southern Itasca and Southern Lake counties. In northwest Wisconsin…Burnett and Douglas counties.
Through this evening the forecast is calling for additional rainfal with another 1 to 3 inches with some locally heavier amounts possible. Many areas have already received between 2 and 5 inches of rain since Friday night.
As of 4:50AM in Duluth the forecast stated the main period of heavy rain is expected from early this morning into late this afternoon.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding. You should monitor forecasts and be alert for any flood warnings. Those living or camping near creeks… streams… rivers… and other areas prone to flooding should be prepared to move to higher ground. Do not drive into areas where water covers the Road.
