FORT SEVERN – Winter weather is hanging on in the far north of Ontario. Fort Severn and Big Trout Lake remain under a Winter Storm Warning.

Environment Canada reports, “A strengthening low pressure system continues to affect far northern Ontario. Snow associated with this system will be heavy at times this morning and taper off later today.

“Snowfall totals of 15 to 25 cm will be possible by this afternoon. Strong and gusty northerly winds will also likely reduce visibilities in blowing snow”.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall Warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required
