SIOUX LOOKOUT – On May 19, 2014 the Municipality of Sioux Lookout is launching its second intake of the Community Improvement Plan Incentive Program. This is an initiative designed to revitalize and rehabilitate four project areas within the Municipality: Downtown area, the Gateway Entrance, Hudson, and the Sioux Lookout Municipal Airport.

Sioux LookoutChief Administrative Officer Ann Mitchell commented, “The CIP Incentive Program will support the continued growth and success of retail business, the development of residential areas, and the improvement of residential and commercial properties. The individual and collective revitalization efforts in the community will improve the appearance of properties and will also serve to make Sioux Lookout a more attractive place to visit and community in which to invest.”

The Community Improvement Plan will provide financial incentives to business owners and homeowners whose properties are located within the project areas, and will offer the following grants:

• Façade Improvements Grant
• Improved Signage Grant
• Landscaping Grant
• Application Fees Grant
• Residential Intensification Grant
• Cash In Lieu of Parking Grant
• Tax Increase Increment Grant
• Municipal Land Development Grant

Applicants are invited to complete the Community Improvement Plan Incentive Program Application Form, which will be available on the Municipal website and at the Municipal office, beginning on May 19, 2014.

The deadline to submit applications for this intake is Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. local time. Applications received after that time will be deemed ineligible.
