THUNDER BAY — The Ministry of Transportation advises the motoring public that Highway 61 at the Kaministiquia River Bridge will be temporarily reduced to single lane traffic starting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5 until 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6 and from 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6 until 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7.  Traffic delays can be expected.

These temporary lane restrictions are required to ensure the safety of road users and workers while routine bridge inspection is completed.  Traffic will be maintained on one lane throughout the duration of the work.  We apologize for the inconvenience and urge motorists to schedule their trips to avoid any delays.

Motorists are reminded to obey and follow all traffic signage and flag persons for the safety of both workers and drivers.

For the latest information on highway closures, the public can call 511, MTO’s Road Information Line or check www.ontario.ca/511.
