NIPIGON, ON – Nipigon OPP report that on April 21, 2014 at 2:51PM, members of the Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Nipigon Fire Service, and Superior North Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a report of two unresponsive adults located inside a residence on First Street in Nipigon.

Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, Nipigon Fire Service determined that carbon monoxide was present in the residence.

Once the residence was deemed safe to enter, two deceased were located inside: a 60 year old male identified as Yvan GAUJEAN and a 45 year old female identified as Claire LIMAG-GAUJEAN (both residents of Nipigon).

An 8 year old boy who had survived was also found inside the residence and was transported to hospital.

The OPP is on scene assisting the Regional Coroner with respect to this incident.
