Court House Open in Fort William BIA
THUNDER BAY – The Ontario Court of Justice is now officially open for business. At a ceremony today local officials, and the Attorney General of Ontario presided over the official opening, complete with Aboriginal drumming, and prayers.
Water Prayer Helps Open Court House
The Attorney General along with Minister Bill Mauro, Minister Michael Gravelle, Ontario Regional Chief Beardy, and Mayor Keith Hobbs were on hand.
Drumming, and dancing were a big part of the ceremonies. The Court House has a room specifically designed for Aboriginal Ceremony.
The impact of the new Court House has been widely seen as very positive. Lawyers at the opening were sharing how busy the area has been over the past several days. There are also new offices for Lawyers opening in the downtown.
