Rochester, MN Sports – The Northwoods League announced a unique partnership today with Collegiate Baseball League Europe. The main piece of this partnership will see six of the top European players that play in the CBLE during the 2014 season given the chance to play in the Northwoods League during the 2015 season.
“We are looking forward to embarking on another unprecedented venture in Summer Collegiate baseball by virtue of this international alliance with the CBLE,” said Northwoods League President Dick Radatz, Jr.
The teams in the CBLE consist of the La Rochelle Admirals (France), Sant Boi Falcons (Barcelona, Spain), London Cavaliers (United Kingdom) and the Oosterhout Bombers (Netherlands).
“Collegiate Baseball League Europe is very excited about the partnership agreement with the Northwoods League. We’re very proud that the NWL recognizes the potential of our young league and we’re looking forward to a long lasting relationship between both organizations,” said CBLE Founder Jan Maarten Kops.
This partnership will also create other opportunities between the two leagues. The Northwoods League will place a link on www.northwoodsleague.com allowing interested American college players the chance to apply to play in not only the Northwoods League but also to apply to play in the CBLE. The two leagues will also collaborate to offer fans of both the NWL and CBLE the opportunity to purchase league and team branded merchandise via links on each league’s online store.
