THUNDER BAY – BUSINESS – The Thunder Bay Port Authority will host its Opening of Navigation Luncheon on Thursday, April 17 with Special Guest Speaker Mark Hemmes, President of Quorum Corporation.

Mr. Hemmes will give an informative, relevant presentation entitled “Moving Grain to Port … What a Year!”

Tim Heney, Chief Executive Officer of the Thunder Bay Port Authority, will provide a brief update on the weather-related challenges causing the delay in the port’s 2014 opening of navigation.

The Opening of Navigation Luncheon is a platform for the Port Authority to keep stakeholders informed about current issues facing marine transportation and the industry of the port’s primary cargo, Western Canadian grain.

The Opening of Navigation Luncheon will begin at 11:30 am in the Victoria Inn Embassy Ballroom.
