THUNDER BAY – The driver who was involved in Harbour Expressway accident on April 3 2014 has passed away in hospital in Thunder Bay. Gary Soderholm, aged fifty-one years, and a Thunder Bay resident, died on Sunday. He had remained in critical condition in TBRHSC since the date of the collision.

The Thunder Bay Police investigation “Reveals Mr. Soderholm appears to have suffered a medical event that caused him to lose control of his grey 2003 Pontiac Sunfire as he was traveling eastbound on Harbour Expressway nearing the intersection of Golf Links Road. Officers found no evidence of excessive speed”.

“The Soderholm vehicle veered to the right and struck three southbound vehicles in the intersection. Two other drivers, a male and a female, suffered minor injuries, were taken to hospital and later released.

Investigators have determined that there was no pre-existing condition that would have caused Mr. Soderholm’s driving privileges to be suspended prior to the collision.

Investigators will likely be able to conclude their work when the post mortem report is complete”.
