FORT McMURRAY – CRIME – RCMP Cst. Natasha Lytwenko reports, “As a result of an ongoing investigation Wood Buffalo RCMP has charged a local man in relation to countless graffiti tags around Fort McMurray. On Friday April 11, 2014, Mitchell Krevenchuck a twenty year old male, was arrested and charged with 4 counts of mischief under $5000.00.

The RCMP investigation commenced March 14 and included countless hours of investigation, statement taking, surveillance and ultimately a search warrant which lead to Krevenchuck’s arrest. Krevenchuck admitted to over 100 tags in the city of Fort McMurray.

At the time of the search warrant, two additional people were arrested and are facing drug related charges. Close to 100 items were seized in relation to the search, including drugs, drug paraphernalia, over $2400.00 Canadian Currency, as well as graffiti materials.

Krevenchuck has since been released from custody and is to appear in court on April 28, 2014.

RCMP has been able to identify and speak with several victims however the investigation continues and police are looking to speak with any other property owners/representatives who may have been affected. The majority of the graffiti associated with this investigation has been identified as spelled out the following; “PUBES”, “PUBE”, and “PEWB”.
