THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday its schedule for the upcoming semifinal playoff series between the Fort Frances Lakers and English River Miners.
This best-of-seven affair will commence Friday with the opener at Ice for Kids Arena in Fort Frances starting at 7:30 p.m.
Game 2 will be played on Saturday back in Fort Frances and features another 7:30 p.m. face-off.
The series will then shift to Ear Falls Arena for games 3 and 4 Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4 with puck drop in each of those contests slated for 7 p.m.
If necessary game 5 will be held in Fort Frances on Sunday, April 6 in Fort Frances at 7:30 p.m. in ’52 Canadians Arena adjacent to Ice for Kids Arena.
The Miners would host game 6, if needed, back in Ear Falls on Tuesday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
Should a seventh and deciding game be required to round out the series, it is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Ice for Kids Arena.
