Thunder Bay Police arrest a suspect in a vehicle break-in

THUNDER BAY – Crime Beat – Thunder Bay Police report that a forty-eight year old man is in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre suffering from non-life threatening injuries. The incident resulted after the many was struck by an individual on a bicycle. at the intersection of May Street and Findlayson in the South Ward of the city.

Police report that the injured man had been reported to police just moments before the accident as he was allegedly smashing a window to break into a vehicle at the CLE. There have been a rash of vandalism and other break-ins to vehicles in the Silver City parking lot recently, it is not reported if this latest incident is related.

Police say the suspect, after break-in the suspect raced off on a bike.

Police have a tool box which was recovered at the accident scene.

The unnamed suspect has been charged with possession of stolen property, mischief, and failure to yield under the Highway Traffic Act.
