EDMONTON – Crimebeat – On Sunday, March 2nd, 2014, members of the Peace Regional RCMP observed a suspicious vehicle parked at an apartment complex in the town of Grimshaw. An investigation ensued which resulted in the seizure of 113.9 grams of Cocaine, 29.3 grams of Methamphetamine, an assortment of prescription pills packaged for distribution and $14,071.20 in Canadian currency.
The driver, 24 year old, Rebecca Garnett, has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of obstruction and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. The approximate street value of the seized drugs is over $15,000.
The Peace Regional RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) furthered the investigation with the execution of a search warrant at a Grimshaw residence which resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, digital scales and multiple cell phones.
Garnett’s next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, March 10th in Peace River.
