THUNDER BAY – On March 1, Naxos Grill and Bar will host “Get Talking”, an exciting fundraiser in support of the Collateral Damage Project. Everyone is invited to enjoy an evening of music, comedy and prizes, while raising awareness of the importance of talking about suicide and its prevention—because “not talking about it isn’t working”

Founded by local firefighter Scott Chisholm, the Collateral Damage Project is a registered charity that creates a proactive dialogue about suicide. By maintaining a website and other print and digital media, the project educates survivors of suicide, and provides tools to those struggling with suicidal thoughts.

Penny Kahramanos, owner and manager of Naxos, will donate a portion of the day’s food sales to the Collateral Damage Project.  “I want to do this because I feel we can help people in our community who are struggling by letting them know that it’s okay to reach out for help.”

Numerous local businesses have donated fantastic prizes, and a variety of musical and comedic acts will take the stage to keep the evening fun and entertaining. The event starts at 8pm.
