THUNDER BAY – Readers – Bonjour, I am working for Association des Francophones du Nord-Ouest de l’Ontario.
Last year, we created a bilingual exhibit with Club Canadien Français de Thunder Bay about Francophones in Northwest Ontario, titled “Francophones in Northwestern Ontario : heritage and patrimony” (covering voyageurs, the fur trade, explorers, and Francophones working in mining and forestry).
Currently, I am working on the second part of the exhibit, and I am looking for information, stories, and pictures of Francophones and French speaking families in the area of Greenstone, from 19th century to today (pictures can be of landscape, village, or people)… I am on a tight timeline of one week to gather information.
Feel free to contact me at innovation@afnoo.org.
This project is going to conclude with a bilingual book compiling the information of both exhibits. This would be a great opportunity to reveal the French history in Northwestern Ontario for the first time. Thank you for your participation.
