THUNDER BAY – Missing Person – Thunder Bay Police advise that the missing teen has been located.

When searching for a missing person it is important to follow a plan.

1. “Donate” your social networks

Through the “World’s Most Valuable Social Network” (www.valuablenetwork.ca), you can choose to allow our most critical posts to automatically share on your social networks. Only used in urgent cases, our Facebook or Twitter posts automatically push out through your feed to inform your networks – effectively reducing the time it takes to share information when time matters most. Through this tool, we’ve helped reach millions of Canadians within hours of an alert going out, increasing the chances that a child will be located.

2. Encourage your company to join CodeSearch

CodeSearch is a unique Corporate Engagement tool that allows companies to contribute their employees and resources to the search for missing children. Employees download a smartphone app that allows them to sign up as ‘field agents’ and contribute their skills if a child goes missing in their local area. The geo-targeted app allows MCSC to contact individuals in the area where a child went missing and provides them with images and descriptions, increasing the chances a child will be recognized. For more information on CodeSearch, please visit www.mcsc.ca/code_search.

For more information about these powerful advances in the search for missing children, and other ways you can support our work, please visit us at www.mcsc.ca. If you are a family, or know of a family, with a missing child, please contact MCSC to see if we may be of assistance. All services are provided to families free of charge.

Anyone who would like to remain anonymous is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a web tip atwww.tipsubmit.com .
