Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Crime News – Thunder Bay Police report that a robbery happened last night (February 6 2014) at about 20:49 EST. Police report that, “A lone male entered the Movie Network located at 1413 Brown Street and demanded money from the employee.

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was used and no one was injured.

The accused is known to police, and the investigation is ongoing.

Rising Flame Award

Cst. Sean Verescak from the TBPS received the Law Enforcement Torch Run Rising Flame Award this past weekend at the Provincial LETR Awards Banquet in Orillia, Ontario. The award is to recognize his outstanding contribution to local LETR events such as the Polar Bear Plunge, Mall Toll event, Boston Pizza Police Serving You, and our annual Torch Run around Boulevard Lake with our local Special Olympics Athletes.

Thunder Bay Police Service was also representaed by Cst Jeff Saunder who accepted the award for the 5th highest percentage in funds raised over the previous year in Ontario.

Thunder Bay Corrections came out on top with the highest percentage increase. These awards confirm that the LETR committee in Thunder Bay is thriving and the support of our community is the best.
