THUNDER BAY – News – “Women’s place is in the house, the House of Commons”, shared keynote speaker Lyn Mcleod addressing a packed house audience at Women in Politics.
The former Liberal leader offered an enthralling look at how politics has changed since she first got involved. The large gathering of business and community leaders were working to find out what women can do to get move involved in the political process, and get more women elected to office.
Rebecca Johnson is the chair of the committee, and McLeod commented that she was, at first reluctant to come to Thunder Bay to speak, but that “Rebecca is a hard person to say no to.”
The lunch hour audience heard how they can get involved in politics, and how to elect more women to office.
Sources tell NNL that McLeod will be honoured in Toronto tomorrow with the Order of Ontario.
