Ryerson Rams Shove Thunderwolves Aside 7-1
THUNDER BAY – The Thunderwolves were trounced by Ryerson. When the drubbing was over the final score of 7-1 was posted and the Twolves were left looking longingly at first place hopes.
It was a fast start for Ryerson, with three goals slide behind Lakehead net minder Justin McDonald. The scoring started for Ryerson at the 4:20 mark of the first period.
There were 2589 fans in the stands at the start of the game. It seems Saturday nights are quieter at the Fort William Gardens. Considering the T-Wolves were gunning for first place some added noise would likely have helped.
The Ram put the game out of reach of the Thunderwolves with a pair of late goals.
Shots on goal 34-31 in favor of the Rams.
The defeat leaves the Ryerson Rams in first place. The Lakehead Thunderwolves are one point behind in the OUA West Division. The Thunderwolves have a two games advantage over Ryerson.
The Lakehead Thunderwolves are on the road next weekend, the team challenges the Windsor Lancers in OUA Action.
