OPP Northwestern Ontario report Highway 61 South was closed due to a motor vehicle accident.

OPP seek Drivers to Mind Conditions

THUNDER BAY – Crime News – Updated – The Thunder Bay OPP report that an accident on Highway 61 South had closed the route. The closure is just south of Riverdale Road. At 13:00 EST the OPP are now letting vehicles through.

Reportedly, a man who was on a snowblower was hit by a motorist. It is unknown if blowing snow and wind were a factor. The injured person’s condition has not been updated.

An NNL Reader reports that the man who was hit by the vehicle as he was clearing snow with a snow blower has been taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre.

The motor vehicle collision have OPP investigating. There is no word yet as to injuries.

At 12:30EST there is no word on how long the Highway will remain closed.
