Beloved Police Dog Thunder Passes

THUNDER BAY – Crime News – Thunder Bay Police have announced that long-serving Police Dog Thunder has passed away. The German Shepard had served residents of Thunder Bay for the past eight years. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Police Service Dog Thunder. The flags at the Balmoral Police Station have been lowered to honour the beloved member of our service,” shared the TBPS.

Thunder had retired from duty only weeks ago. The police share, “Due to the deterioration of his health, with the aid of his dedicated veterinarian, he passed quietly this morning with Cst. Prevet and family at his side”.

The number of cases where Thunder worked is basically uncountable, and the dedication of the Police Dog and his handler had gained the respect of residents and officers.
