THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Thunder Bay can expect another 2-5 centimetres of snow. Winds in the city and region are going to turn the light fluffy snow into drifting and blowing snow that is likely to make local roads and highways more challenging.
Environment Canada states, “An additional 2 to 5 centimetres of snow today with localized blowing snow developing”.
A low pressure system over Northwestern Ontario has given most areas 5 to 10 centimetres of snow since yesterday afternoon.
Snow will become lighter through the day today with an additional two to five centimetres expected. Gusty northerly winds up to 60 km/h are forecast to develop and may result in localized blowing snow in exposed areas, with associated poor visibilities.
The weather in the region is far more seasonal than to the west and south of Northwestern Ontario.
Blizzard conditions are forecast for parts of the southern Manitoba, and Minnesota.
