Wind Chill Advisory in Thunder Bay
THUNDER BAY – Weather – Thunder Bay is back into the deep freeze. Low temperatures into the minus 30c range are expected to continue until Tuesday. Coupled with strong north winds, the wind chill factor is far colder. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the city. Another blast of Arctic air will invade northwestern Ontario tonight causing temperatures to plummet to minus 30 to minus 35 degrees celsius.
This combined with moderate westerly winds will result in extreme wind chills of minus 40 tonight and into Sunday morning.
The extreme cold is likely to persist into Tuesday.
The Wind Chill Warning is extended from the Manitoba border to the North Shore of Lake Superior. Kenora, Vermillion Bay, Dryden, Ignace, Fort Frances, Atikokan, Nipigon, Red Rock, Marathon and Manitowadge are all under the advisory.
