FORT SEVERN, WASHAHO CREE NATION – Fort Severn is facing wind chills of minus 45 to minus 50 expected this morning and again tonight. Environment Canada states, “An Arctic airmass combined with moderate winds of between 15 and 20 km/h, will result in wind chill values exceeding warning thresholds of minus 45 this morning”.

Wind chills will improve this afternoon, but wind chills of minus 45 to minus 50 will occur again this evening into early Sunday morning.

The weather across the rest of Northern Ontario is far less severe. In Thunder Bay there has been light powdery snow overnight and the temperature is -11.
