THUNDER BAY – Crime News – Thunder Bay Police have made an arrest in a
Thunder Bay Police report “An 18 year old male is facing a charge of Second Degree Murder of 30 year old Shannon Ashley Marie Hogan.
Shannon Hogan was the victim of a violent assault in the early morning hours of July 16, 2013 in a lane way behind Lake Street in the city’s north side.
Police conducted an extensive investigation which resulted in the arrest of the 18-year-old male on Thursday December 19, 2013. The male has been in custody on unrelated charges and was making a court appearance at the Provincial Court when he was arrested on the new Second Degree Murder charges.
The 18-year-old cannot be identified as he was a youth at the time of the incident. The young man appeared in court December 20th 2013 on the these new charges.
He will remain in custody until his next court date on December 27, 2013.
Thunder Bay was just listed by Statistics Canada has having had the most homicides per capita in 2012.
