The 19th Annual Santa Bus campaign was once again organized by Thunder Bay Transit and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 966.
Throughout the 2013 campaign, which formally ended on Dec. 16, all Thunder Bay Transit buses were accepting donations of non-perishable food items. In addition, residents could make donations at the Santa Bus itself, which was stationed at the Walmart Supercentre on Fort William Road.
All of the donated food was delivered to the Thunder Bay Food Bank on Monday.
Thunder Bay Food Bank supplies emergency help to people in need, and when possible, helps other organizations with food supply. The need is always greater in the winter and especially over the holidays.
