Warm Fort William Hearts Start Holidays
THUNDER BAY – The heart of the Fort William downtown was chilly outside but warm with the Peace Walk, the Songs of the Holiday Season and the 19th annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Paterson Park. The Peace Walk brought 49 people out to make a statement that the neighbourhood is going to be open and safe for all.
Mayor Hobbs spoke about the importance of how individuals in our city make a difference. The Mayor pointed to the Evergreen Neighbourhood where Linda Bruins has done wonders, and the Windsor / Blucher Neighbourhood where Alaina King and the Community Action Group have made that neighbourhood much better.
Mayor Hobbs Shares some Thoughts
The event was well attended, and after a chilly walk, and a beautiful tree lighting, along with hot apple cider that was as warming to the hands and the stomach, everyone headed inside to Victoriaville for some song, cheer and fun.
