Police Report on Bomb Threat in Westfort
THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police closed off a block on Frederica Street last night between Edward Street and Ford Street. Five patrol units were on site at the scene for several hours. Police are not talking yet about what happened. The incident in Westfort will be updated as information comes in.
The issue has been called a bomb threat by police. Reportedly a smouldering object was thrown through the window of a home on West Frederica Street.
The OPP has their bomb site unit on site at the Westfort incident location.
Thunder Bay Police are asking for anyone who might have additional information to contact them with that information.
Busy Night for Police
There was a number of reported assaults across the city overnight. One incident sent a young woman to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. That victim was scheduled for release this morning.
