Threats to Local Thunder Bay Residents
THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police have arrested a suspect in a long running case of threatening behaviour. The forty-six year old Thunder Bay man is now in custody facing numerous counts of Uttering Threats dating back to July 2012. The threats were received by local businesses, individuals, groups, media outlets, city politicians, and members of the Thunder Bay Police Service. The threats started in the summer of 2012.
Thunder Bay Police believe those anonymous letters had come from one individual. The Criminal Investigations Branch conducted a thorough investigation which included forensic examinations of the letters and extensive work with the victims regarding possible persons of interest.
In one instance one of the letters to a local resident was also threatening the person’s children.
