THUNDER BAY – Newfie’s Pub on Victoria Avenue will serve a one weeks suspension of its liquor licence. The suspension announced by the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission will run from 11AM on November 10 2013 until 2:00AM on  November 17th. The suspension comes about after an agreement reached between the AGCO and Newfie’s Pub. Originally the suspension was set for two weeks.

The AGCO states in the suspension that there were several violations:

On March 2 2013 alcohol was served to patrons after 2AM;

On March 2 2013 at 11:14PM an intoxicated individual was in the establishment;

On March 3 2013 liquor was served after 2:00AM

On July 20 2013 an intoxicated person was in the establishment.

Newfie’s Pub and the AGCO agreed on October 7, 2013 to amend the two week suspension to a one week suspension.
