Ontario Fire Marshall Investigates James Street Bridge Fire

THUNDER BAY – The James Street Bridge across the Kam River remains closed. Thunder Bay Police are securing the scene so that an investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office can continue.

Thunder Bay Police want to remind the public that the James Street bridge is closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic due to the fire. 

Thunder Bay Police are currently providing scene security pending an investigation by the Fire Marshall’s Office. Police officers will not be allowing anyone on the bridge to maintain the integrity of the investigation and for public safety. 

Police advise that for the time being, people will need to take an alternate route.
