THUNDER BAY – Bill Mauro states, We’re proud to support our local festivals and sport events, which expand and create jobs here in Thunder Bay. I encourage organizers to submit applications for the 2014 Celebrate Ontario program”. The Thunder Bay Atikokan MPP was announcing that Celebrate Ontario 2014 is open for applications. Submissions are now being accepted for funding that helps Ontario festivals and events in communities across the province increase tourism, create jobs, and grow local economies.
This year, the province is expanding the program to include a new funding category — International Amateur Sport Hosting. Ontario municipalities and not-for-profit organizations can apply for funding to help them with hosting costs for delivering major international amateur sporting events in the province.
Celebrate Ontario supported 22,000 jobs and more than 200 festivals and events across the province in 2013.
