THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police are still looking for the driver of a silver Honda Prelude.

At about 8:00AM on Thursday,  Police report, “A school bus was stopped for the stop sign on Peter St at the intersection of Van Norman St. The bus was struck from behind by a silver Honda Prelude that was being driven by a male driver. That driver fled the scene, but the vehicle was recovered by police when they found it parked in a laneway a short distance away”.

None of the children were hurt by the collision, but a “spider” crack in the windshield was observed on the Honda. “Spiders” are indicative of an unrestrained occupant during a collision. The extent of injury to that occupant is unknown.

The investigation is continuing. Police are having a hard time finding the driver of the vehicle as it appears that he no longer resides at the address provided to the Ministry of Transportation.

If anyone has information regarding this collision, or has knowledge of the driver or female occupant, police are asking that the involved person who was injured first seek medical attention and then to contact police.

If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact Thunder Bay Police or Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers 623-TIPS(8477).
