Rotary Annual House Lottery Funds Thank You!

THUNDER BAY – The Fort William Rotary Club is saying thanks – thanks to the many volunteers who make possible the Annual House Lottery at its Special Thank You Dinner.

Now in its 28th year, a portion of the proceeds from the House Lottery will support the Fort William Rotary Club’s $500,000 commitment to the Exceptional Cancer Care Campaign.

“Thanks to our community’s generous participation for the past 27 years in our Annual House Lottery, we have raised over $4 million, which we have proudly reinvested in Thunder Bay,” said Dr. Richard Khoury, President.  “In the past, the club has also donated $50,000 in support of the Angioplasty Unit, $100,000 to support the creation of a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and $1.2 million to build the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.”

“We are thrilled to continue our tradition of supporting excellence in healthcare. Our current gift was inspired by the late wife (Susan) of one of our members, Terry Cameron, and her passion for raising funds to provide exceptional cancer care for every patient that embarks upon a cancer journey,” remarked Dr. Khoury.

Each ticket purchased in this year’s House Lottery will be a winner – as it is bringing Hope to cancer patients and families across Northwestern Ontario. Further information about ticket sales will be available in the near future.
