FORT FRANCES – BUSINESS – Resolute Fort Frances Division and Unifor Locals 92 and 306 have now agreed to extend a July manpower agreement allowing the #7 Paper Machine to now run up to December 15, 2013. The mill in Fort Frances has 275 employees according to Resolute.

Unifor National Representative Stephen Boon said, “The original manning agreement was expected to conclude next week, but after a number of meetings with Resolute management over the last few weeks, both Unifor Locals have now agreed to extend the original manning agreement by two months to assist the company in filling additional paper orders.”

Boon concluded, “Over 40 Unifor Members in Fort Frances have been working on the #7 paper machine temporarily since July and we have once again ensured the recall option continues to be 100% voluntary for laid off Unifor members and does not negatively impact their seniority, future recall rights or severance entitlements.”
