THUNDER BAY – Business – The Blue Sky Community Healing Centre hosted their grand opening in the Fort William Business District Friday night. The packed house of visitors celebrated the eight year vision coming together with songs, speeches, prayers and drumming.

The Blue Sky Community Healing Centre is located at 512 Victoria Avenue East.

Councillor Ruberto was joined by fellow Councillors Paul Pugh and Larry Hebert. In addition, Tony Muzzin from the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce was on hand to share in the festivities.

Local business owners in the area were also on hand to share in Blue Sky’s Grand Opening. Local business owners in the Downtown Fort William business core are banding together with the theme, “We Have a Neighbourhood to Build“.

As new businesses open in the area, that neighbourhood revitalization is starting to happen.

Cindy Crowe shared how the vision of the centre came to her eight years ago. Earlier this year, a drum and a pipe were willed to her, and Crowe stated those were the last two pieces needed to put the vision together.

“The Blue Sky Community Healing Centre is open to all,” commented Crowe.
