Good2talkTHUNDER BAY – College and university students in Thunder Bay will be able to call Good2Talk, a province-wide service that provides support for post-secondary students with mental health concerns 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year.

Good2Talk is a free, completely confidential and anonymous service that offers professional counselling, mental health information and connections to local resources. The phone line will help callers deal with student life, health or mental well-being concerns.

“Our Mental Health and Addictions Strategy is about providing faster, easier access to young people who could use the support.  This new service for Thunder Bay’s students at Confederation College and Lakehead University will help local youth overcome challenges as they transition into post-secondary studies,” stated MPP Bill Mauro in a media release.

Minister of Northern Development and Mines, Michael Gravelle states, “Our government is committed to supporting all students across the province and ensuring that they have access to the right services to keep them healthy and successful. New programs, like Good2Talk, offered through our government’s Mental Health and Addictions Strategy will certainly help students at Lakehead University and Confederation College.”
