THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police are investigating a hit and run collision that happened last evening at about 6:30PM. The incident on Algoma Street near John had the roadway closed for several hours as officers were onsite investigating the incident. Police are reporting that the hit and run may have been intentional.

Police report that it appears that a light coloured mini-van travelling south on Algoma, according to witnesses was in the wrong lane, and then turned into a parking lot in the two hundred block of the street. That is where the accident, the vehicle hitting an individual on a bicycle.

The mini-van then reportedly left the scene of the accident, heading north toward Bay Street.

According to Thunder Bay Police, the light coloured mini-van suffered damage from the collision with the cyclist.
