THUNDER BAY – Updated – Power was restored at 11:03PM EDT…. Power in parts of the south side of Thunder Bay is out. Electricity has been out for much of the area along May Street, Simpson Street for up to four hours. In the downtown Fort William area, power was out briefly but has been restored.

The power was also out in the downtown Fort William Business Area for about half an hour. Power has been restored.

Residents in the area are starting to get concerned about how long the power will remain out.

Keys are keeping the freezer closed, and not opening the fridge any more than needed.

Thunder Bay Hydro has not supplied a timeline but crews have been dispatched and are working to restore power.

Reportedly a transformer went, NNL readers along Simpson Street report a loud bang happened and then the power shut down.
