Thirteen More Sex Assault Charges Laid by Thunder Bay Police
THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have laid more charges in connection with a sexual assault investigation. The Criminal Investigation Branch of the Thunder Bay Police Service has laid more charges against a Thunder Bay man in connection with a historic sexual assault investigation.
46 year old Jeff Paxton now faces an additional thirteen charges following an ongoing investigation. Paxton had been previously charged with ten Criminal Code offences. The Criminal Investigation Branch has been working with past victims and has been examining incidents closely since 2011.
Paxton now faces a total of 23 charges stemming from these incidents.
Thunder Bay Police Continue Investigation
In a media statement, Thunder Bay Police state, “It is alleged that there were a number of male victims who were between the ages of 7 and 14 years of age at the time of the incidents. A total of 11 victims were identified in these incidents”.
All of the charges stem from incidents that occurred between 1983 and 2004 while Paxton was:
- a bible councilor at Round Lake Bible Camp
- involved in local churches
- a local business owner of the Great Northwest Coffee Company
- a person in authority as a babysitter
Jeff Paxton, state the Thunder Bay Police, is not in custody and will appear in court on Wednesday August 21, 2013.
