Hannibal Returns to Wresting Ring
OTTAWA – Sports – Hannibal is back! Devon Nicholson has been battling Hepatitis C. The professional wrestler has shared his story with NNL readers over the course of his long and difficult treatment. Now, after a long hiatus from the wrestling ring, Hannibal is back, without Hep-C in his blood and raring to rumble. After fighting, and beating the toughest opponent possible, something Nicholson has done with the help of friends from across the world, including Superstar Billy Graham.
After a two year break from the wrestling’s squared circle, the most dangerous heel in pro wrestling is set to return to the ring.
Hannibal in Handicap Match
Hannibal wrestles for the first time in Quebec in nearly 5 years when he returns to the ring at the JA Lemay Arena in Windsor Quebec to face off against 2 opponents in a handicap match.
Hannibal wrestled in two matches in Thunder Bay before his hiatus from the ring battles to tackle Hep-C. Those matches brought many of the top superstars of wrestling to Fort William Gardens.
Hannibal is perhaps the most feared and dangerous of all time wrestler. A former Canadian Amateur Wrestling Champion, Canadian Open Grappling Winner and Olympic silver medalist tests, Hannibal was formed in the dungeon of the Hart family and Montreal by Jacques Rougeau Jr.
Hannibal fought all over the world and had matches in WWE, TNA, IWA and WWC Puerto Rico All Star Wrestling in Europe, New Japan United States, the Dominican Republic and Ireland. He is a former Intercontinental Champion and 2 times WWC IWA Puerto Rico Tag Team Champion.
The close friend and protégé of “Superstar” Billy Graham, Hannibal fought stars such as Terry Funk, Psycho Sid Viscious, Kevin Nash, Vampiro, James Storm, Brutus Beefcake, The Honky Tonk Man, Lanny Poffo and beat Abdullah the Butcher Montreal is in his retirement.
After contracting hepatitis C from wrestling he took a hiatus of more than two years from the ring during treatment. He no longer has the virus in his blood.
