Southside Selects on to National Baseball Championships
According to Manager Mike McAllister, the turning point of the series occurred when “Max Rydholm [hit a] Home Run in Game 3.” He said, “From that moment on, we had the edge in the series.”
The win means the Selects will be the host team at the Senior Little League Canadian championships in Thunder Bay in two weeks.
“I am extremely excited to be coaching in the national championships,” enthused McAllister. “I have been there before as a player and I am looking forward to it as a coach.”
For many of the players this is not their first experience at a national championship. Last year, six players from the Selects competed in the Junior Canadian Little League Championship in Lethbridge, AB, finishing second.
