Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Police were busy over the past twenty four hours. Thunder Bay Police Service responded to 253 calls. Those calls included four weapons offences, 83 quality of life calls, which included 50 liquor offences. There were also 14 domestic disturbances responded to by Police.

In addition there were five sexual offences

The Calls for Service represent ten calls per hour on average for the 24 hour period. However the bulk of the calls are not evenly spread out through the day. That can lead to times where Police are going to take a longer than wanted time to respond to certain types of calls.

Hot Weather a Factor?

Over the past several days, the volume of calls has been lower, especially alcohol related calls. Heading into the weekend, and reported high temperatures, Police are likely bracing for greater call volumes.
