PRETORIA – President Jacob Zuma visited former President Nelson Mandela in hospital this evening 26 June 2013, around 22:00SAST (GMT+2) and found him to be still in a critical condition.
President Zuma was briefed by the doctors who are still doing everything they can to ensure Madiba’s well-being.
South Africans are gathering at the hospital in Pretoria where the ninety-four year old Mandela has been for several weeks.
Nelson Mandela Health Concerns
President Zuma has decided to cancel his visit to Maputo, Mozambique where he was due to attend the SADC Regional Summit on Infrastructure Investment tomorrow, 27 June 2013.
There are still officially unconfirmed reports that the former South African leader has been removed from life support.
Mr. Mandela’s granddaughter Ndileka Mandela reports that the family were taking comfort from messages of support from the public.
His daughter Makaziwe said he was “still there” and responding to touch.
There is concern over how many will respond to the news, should it come of Mandela’s death.
