THUNDER BAY – James Gandolfini, best known for playing Tony Soprano is dead. “It is with immense sorrow that we report our client James Gandolfini passed away today while on holiday in Rome, Italy,” said his co- managers; Mark Armstrong and Nancy Sanders. “Our hearts are shattered and we will miss him deeply. He and his family were part of our family for many years and we are all grieving.”

The Sopranos aired on HBC. The Sopranos was an American television drama created by David Chase. The series revolved around the New Jersey-based Italian-American mobster Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and the difficulties he faces as he tries to balance the conflicting requirements of his home life and thecriminal organization he heads.

Gandolfini was on vacation in Rome. He and due to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily.

James Gandolfino is survived by his wife Deborah Lin and two children, Michael, 13, and nine-month-old daughter Liliana Ruth.
