He stated to the world “I’m willing to sacrifice all of that because I can’t in good conscience allow the US government to destroy privacy internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they’re secretly building.”
Snowden is now hiding in Hong Kong and is afraid to come out of his hotel for fear of being assassinated by the same secret US spy agencies he has exposed. He has been advised that the American Government will come after him with everything in their power to prevent further damage to the international intelligence web that took decades too developed.
