First Responders were on the scene for an incident outside of Newfie’s Pub on Victoria Avenue East

THUNDER BAY – Crime Report – Thunder Bay Police enjoyed a quieter night. There were thirty calls for service over the past twenty-four hours. This included 13 traffic incidents. There were one weapons offence, and one assault overnight.

On Wednesday afternoon, Thunder Bay Police, Thunder Bay Fire Fighters and Paramedics responded to a call on Victoria Avenue East. The incident which led to a female being taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on a stretcher happened on the sidewalk just outside of Newfie’s Pub on Victoria Avenue East.

Reports from the scene were that the woman experienced a medical issue and required assistance.

Crime issues

Thunder Bay continues toward greater public engagement with social media. Very likely once the city moves into a solid comfort zone with social media the service will find out that massive numbers of people in Thunder Bay will use the service’s information to make Thunder Bay safer.

Traffic Incident Updated

The investigation into the collision on Chippewa Road Monday afternoon has been concluded. No charges will be laid. Investigation has shown that there was a medical event just prior to the crash that caused the driver to become unconscious.

Police would like to remind all drivers that medical conditions that can affect the ability to safely operate a vehicle will cause a review process and may result with possible suspension of driving privileges.
