THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police were kept busy over the past twenty-four hours. There were 89 calls for service, that included 21 traffic incidents. Topping the list were Quality of Life calls, as police had to handle eighteen liquor offences and eleven disturbances. In addition there were twelve assaults reported to Thunder Bay Police.
Police are asking for the public to assist in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run over the weekend. On Saturday, April 13th, 2013 at approximately 10:15PM. a car was westbound on Southern Avenue and began to turn left onto Brodie Street when it was struck on the driver’s side by a truck also traveling westbound on Southern Avenue. The truck then continued to head west on Southern without stopping after the collision.
Thunder Bay Daily Crime Update
The female driver of the car was taken to the hospital by a family member and has since been released. The car was not drivable and was towed from the scene with moderate damage.
Police are looking for a early 2000’s dark Ford pick up truck with a white topper. This vehicle will have front end damage most likely to the passenger side.

Robbery Arrest Made
Police arrested a male responsible for the robbery at the Shell Gas Bar at 807 Red River Road that occurred on March 17, 2013.
Just before 9:00 a.m. on April 13, 2013, Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Branch attended a north side residence and took male into custody without incident. He was escorted to the Balmoral police station where he was lodged until he made a court appearance. He has been released with a future court date.
19 year old Jessie Kuokkanen has been charged with Robbery and Disguise with Intent.
